Introduction
Concours Pro uses notifications via email, SMS and the desktop and mobile app to keep you, the user, updated with actions happening across your system.
System Notifications will keep users updated on system activity such as messages, conversations, tasks, and reviews received. Settings can be adjusted for system notifications to be shown on your desired combination of channels.
Custom Notifications are notifications generated by your automation workflows, and can be sent via the Internal Notification workflow action.
Notification Center
All notifications, System and Custom will appear in Concours Pro’s Notification Center.
Navigating the Notification center on desktop:
- Click the Orange Bell icon in the top right to view the Notification Center.

Settings
System Notifications
System Notifications can be adjusted to be shown In-App (desktop and mobile simultaneously), on Email or SMS, or any combination of the above.
Each user can select a unique combination of notification settings.
These settings can be found at Settings > My Profile > Notifications.
There you can tick either In-App, Email or SMS for each type of system notification.
You can also set times for task reminders and summaries.
Custom Notifications
Custom Notifications are controlled by the Internal Notification workflow action that triggers them.
In this workflow action, select ‘Email’, ‘Notification (In-App)’ or ‘SMS’ for your desired notification channel.
Then enter additional required information for each type of notification such as email from address, subject, user, phone number, message, attachments, and template selected.
You can also test SMS and email custom notifications directly from the action modal, once you have entered the required details.
Note: Only one type of notification is possible per workflow action. If you want to notify via SMS, Email and In-App then you need 3 separate workflow actions.
In-App Notifications – Expected Behaviour and Troubleshooting
In-App notifications happen on both desktop and mobile app, providing both are logged in. There is no way to switch either off, so if in-app notifications are selected, both desktop and mobile are active.
In-App notifications are controlled by several additional layers, in addition to Concours Pro settings, that may prevent them from appearing.
Mobile App
On the mobile app, you must give the app permission in your device settings to send notifications. Here you can also customise the type of notification it appears as and any selected grouping and persistence.
Mobile app notifications are affected by any ‘Focus / Do Not Disturb’ mode that is active and may be configured to block the app from sending notifications.
Desktop
On desktop you must give permission for your browser to send notifications, and then also authorise the Concours Pro URL, https://go.concourspro.app/ to send them.
Similar to mobile devices, an active ‘Focus / Do Not Disturb’ mode can also block notifications from being sent.
Note: If you have multiple windows / tabs of Concours Pro open (in different, or the same browser) then all notifications will be duplicated by the number of active instances of Concours Pro you have open. For example: 3 open Concours Pro tabs will mean that each In-App notification will be shown 3 times.
Troubleshooting Approach
If you find In-App notifications are not being sent, and all the above Concours Pro Settings are correctly set to enable notifications, the first thing you should do is to check your device or browser settings to ensure notifications for the app / URL are allowed.
Secondly, you should disable all ‘Focus / Do Not Disturb’ modes. For desktop, you can try in a different browser. Finally try updating your current app/browser to the latest version.
If these steps don’t resolve the issue with notifications not being sent, please contact support.
