Note: New accounts must use Online Portal magic links. You can generate these in Sites > Online Portal > Dashboard. Magic links grant access only to the courses or products assigned to the user. If you’re logged in as an admin, you’ll see all courses in the account when testing.

They’re perfect for users who’ve lost their password or need quick access. You can send these links via email, SMS, or embed them as menu links. Just ensure you share them only with users who have permission to access your content.

  1. Go to Sites > Online Portal > Dashboard.
  2. Click Generate Magic Link.
  3. Select Contact, optionally check Send Email.
  4. Click Generate.

  • Signing up new users for a course.

Sending Magic Links via Workflows

  1. Go to Advanced Automation & Workflow Builder and set up a course-related trigger (e.g., Category Started, Lesson Completed, Offer Access Granted).
  2. Add an action like Email or SMS.
  3. Select Login URL (Magic Link) from the custom values. The link will auto-populate for the contact when sent.

Sending Magic Links via Email Campaigns

In Email Direct Marketing (EDM), use the Login URL (Magic Link) custom value in your email template to include the link.

Important: Share magic links only with users who have consent to access your courses, as anyone with the link can view the content.


Troubleshooting

  • Expired Links: Generating a new magic link invalidates older ones. Always use the latest link.
  • No Access: Magic links won’t work for contacts without assigned course or offer access.
  • Seeing All Courses: If you’re an admin testing a magic link, you’ll see all courses in the account. Test in an incognito browser to mimic a user’s view.
