Configuring Linked & Conflict Calendars in Concours Pro

Contents

Overview

In Concours Pro, you can sync appointments in Team/Group calendars with third-party calendars like Google, Outlook, or iCloud. This allows events from these external calendars to be integrated into the system.

What is Calendar Configuration?

Under Calendars > Calendar Settings > Connections, you can configure how your calendar interacts with third-party calendars. The two main settings are Linked Calendar and Conflict Calendars, where all integrated third-party calendars are displayed.

Linked Calendar

The Linked Calendar feature syncs new events created in Concours Pro with your chosen third-party calendar, such as Google. This ensures that any event created in Concours Pro is visible in your external calendar, and vice versa.

Key Points:

  • You need writer access to select a calendar as a Linked Calendar.
  • The Linked Calendar is also included by default as a Conflict Calendar, syncing events in both directions.
  • Sync preferences can be customized in the Advanced Settings.

Sync Preferences (Advanced Settings)

One-way Sync

  • Events created in Concours Pro are synced to your Linked Calendar.
  • Events from your Linked Calendar are synced to Concours Pro as blocked slots.
  • No contacts are created for guests in the Linked Calendar events, and no automations are triggered.
  • This is the default and recommended setting.

Two-way Sync

  • Events created in Concours Pro are synced to your Linked Calendar.
  • Events from your Linked Calendar are synced to Concours Pro as appointments.
  • Contacts are created for guests in the Linked Calendar events, and automations can be triggered.

Example: If you create a Google event titled “Customer Appointment” from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on 1st February, the following will occur:

  • Default Sync: The 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on 1st February time slot will be blocked in Concours Pro.
  • Two-way Sync: An appointment is created, and a contact for the customer is added, with workflows triggered if set up.

Conflict Calendar

Conflict Calendars block availability in Concours Pro by syncing events from third-party calendars. Only events marked as ‘Busy’ will block your time, ensuring accurate availability and preventing double bookings. You can add multiple Conflict Calendars for thorough coverage.

Note that no appointments are created in Concours Pro through Conflict Calendars; they simply block the time for existing events in your third-party calendar.
