Getting Started: Configuring the Missed Call Text Back Feature

Contents

Introduction

Never miss a business opportunity with Concours Pro’s Missed Call Text Back feature. This handy tool automatically sends a text message to anyone who calls but doesn’t get through, ensuring you stay connected with potential clients. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the simple steps to set up and use this feature, helping you save time and keep your communication on point.

Important Note

The Missed Call Text Back feature sends an SMS for every missed call, even if the same person calls multiple times in a short period. To avoid getting multiple texts, you can tweak the existing workflow recipe in Concours Pro.

Try adding a wait step of around 20 minutes or use tags like “First Call” or “Second Call” to filter notifications based on your needs.

How to Set Up the Missed Call Text Back Feature

Setting up the Missed Call Text Back feature is straightforward. Follow these steps to get it running in your Concours Pro account.

Log into your Concours Pro account and head to the left-hand menu. Scroll down to the bottom and click on Settings. This is where you’ll find all the controls to manage your account’s backend.

Go to Settings > Phone Numbers.

This section handles all settings related to your account’s phone numbers. Once there, switch to the Advanced Settings tab at the top to access options like voicemail, missed call text back, and call scripts.

Under Advanced Settings, click the Voicemail & Missed Call Text Back tab. This is where you’ll configure your missed call text back preferences.

Adjust the Incoming Call Timeout

Set how long the phone rings before the missed call text back kicks in. Use the slider to pick a duration—10 to 20 seconds is usually a good range.

Upload a Voicemail Audio File (Optional)

If you want a custom voicemail message, you can upload one here. Use a pre-recorded file in formats like MP3 or WAV to replace the standard carrier voicemail.

Enable and Customise the Missed Call Text Back

Scroll down to the Enable Missed Call Text Back checkbox and tick it to activate the feature. Then, click Customise to set up the message that gets sent when a call is missed.

Customise the Message Content

After clicking Customise, a pop-up will appear where you can write your automated text message. In the message field, type the text you want sent to missed callers. You can also use the custom value tag icon to add dynamic placeholders, like the caller’s name, but these only work if the contact is already in your system from a previous interaction.

Select Sending Number for Test

Below the message editor, choose the phone number to send a test message from. The dropdown will show your connected numbers—pick the one you want to use to see how the message looks when sent to customers.

Send a Test and Save Your Settings

Once your message is ready and you’ve selected a sending number, click Send Test to preview the message. This lets you check everything looks right. When you’re happy, click Save to lock in your settings and activate the Missed Call Text Back feature.
