Setting Up a Dedicated Email Sending Domain in Concours Pro

What is a Dedicated Sending Domain and Why Do I Need One?

A dedicated sending domain allows your emails to appear as if they’re coming directly from your business, helping maintain a good reputation with email services.

By default, unless you have set up a seperate SMTP provider, you will send emails using Concours Pro’s LeadConnector email system. This sends emails using the Concours Pro shared sending domain – mg.ccpro.net.au or similar.

While this is a convenient option, creating your own email dedicated sending domain is a valuable enhancement to your email delivery.

Here’s some reasons why:

  • With a dedicated sending domain, your emails are less likely to be affected by the reputation of other Concours Pro users sharing the same domain, so your important emails will have a better chance of reaching your contacts’ inboxes and not going to spam.
  • A dedicated sending domain adds a professional touch to your emails, reinforcing your brand identity and building trust.
  • Managing your own sending domain will give you greater control over your email deliverability, allowing you to set up authentication protocols like SPF, DKIM, and DMARC, thereby preventing unauthorized use of your domain.
  • Shared domains can lead to higher spam-flagging rates. By transitioning to your own sending domain, you reduce the risk of your legitimate emails being mistaken for spam.

How to Create a Dedicated Email Sending Domain

To set up a dedicated email sending domain in Concours Pro:

  1. Go to Settings > Email settings > Email Services.
  2. Click Dedicated Domain and IP.
  3. Click + Add Domain.
  4. Enter domain name, including your chosen subdomain – for example “lc.yourdomain.com.au” or “mg.mydomain.com.au” or “concourspro.mybusiness.com.au“.
  5. Click Add and Verify.
  6. Click Continue.
  7. The system will detect your DNS provider and if it is one of the common providers (Cloudflare, GoDaddy, Namecheap or Google Domains), you will be guided on how to set up DNS records automatically. This example shows the Cloudflare procedure, but all are similar.
  8. Click Authorise domain to continue.
  9. Review the DNS records to be added and Click Authorise, authorising LeadConnector email system to add DNS records on your behalf.

If Concours Pro is unable to detect your DNS provider as one of the common providers, then DNS records will be displayed for you to add to your DNS provider manually. If you prefer to do things this way then you can always click Add record manually.

If manually adding DNS records ensure you carefully copy each entire exact DNS record as shown and add them to your DNS provider. Click Verify Records once you have added them manually to your DNS provider.

Note: It may take up to 24 hours for DNS propagation before your domain can be verified. Be sure to check back and click Verify Domain if it doesn’t verify straight away.
