When to Use a Dedicated IP
A dedicated IP in Concours Pro Email means your emails are sent from a unique IP address, giving you full control over your sender reputation and email deliverability. It’s ideal for businesses sending massive email volumes—think hundreds of thousands or millions per month, especially over 200,000.
It’s also crucial if you’re setting up email authentication protocols like SPF, DMARC, DKIM, or SSL certificates to protect against spoofing. Unlike shared IPs, a dedicated IP keeps you safe from other senders’ actions, reducing risks like domain hijacking and ensuring secure, reliable email delivery.
Benefits of a Dedicated IP
While a dedicated IP may cost more than a shared one, it offers clear advantages for busy business owners:
- Faster Email Delivery: Major providers like Gmail and Yahoo often prioritise emails from dedicated IPs, getting your messages to inboxes quicker. Plus, you don’t share bandwidth, so your performance stays consistent.
- Complete Reputation Control: You’re the only one using the IP, so you manage your sender and IP reputation entirely. This lets you fine-tune your email and SEO strategies without interference.
- Easier Issue Resolution: With only your emails on the IP, spotting and fixing problems is straightforward, keeping your email system reliable.
- Better Security: A dedicated IP adds protection against threats like domain hijacking, malware, or hacking, keeping your email communications safe.
These benefits make a dedicated IP a smart choice for businesses with heavy email needs, saving you time and boosting reliability.
Tips for Using Dedicated IPs
Your sender reputation matters to email providers, and with a dedicated IP, you need to manage your email volume and timing carefully to avoid spam filters. Here’s how to do it right:
Send emails consistently and ramp up volume gradually—ideally increasing every 24 hours. Dedicated IPs work best for steady, high-volume sending. Sporadic blasts can trigger spam flags or even get you blocklisted, as providers don’t like sudden spikes.
If your email volume is inconsistent, a shared IP might be better, blending your sends with others’ steady traffic. Concours Pro simplifies this with an automated warmup process, splitting emails between your dedicated and shared IPs (50/50) until the dedicated IP is fully warmed up. This ensures solid deliverability, though warmup can take time, even after the IP is assigned.
With a bit of strategy, you’ll maintain a strong reputation and keep your emails landing in inboxes.
Who Can Purchase a Dedicated IP
Dedicated IPs are available for Concours Pro Silver users and above, typically those sending at least 50,000 emails weekly to maintain a strong reputation and avoid throttling. For every million emails sent monthly, one dedicated IP is recommended for optimal performance.
If you have over 10,000 contacts or sent more than 50,000 emails in the past 10 days, you are eligible to buy.

Managing Your Dedicated IP
If you have a dedicated email sending domain, you’ll see a tag showing whether it’s linked to a dedicated or shared IP. Note that a dedicated IP requires a dedicated sending domain.
You can link one or more dedicated IPs to your domains. A single domain can use multiple IPs, and one IP can serve multiple domains. If multiple IPs are assigned, Concours Pro sends emails across them in a round-robin pattern, balancing traffic evenly.
To assign an IP to a domain:
- Click the three dots next to the domain and select Assign IP.
- In the IP Assignment pop-up, choose from your purchased IPs.
