Email Bounces

Email Bounces happen when emails fail to be delivered. There are two types: hard bounces, which occur when an email address doesn’t exist, and soft bounces, which are temporary failures due to issues like full mailboxes or unavailable servers.

How to mark emails as invalid due to Hard Bounce

  1. Go to Settings > Business Profile
  2. Navigate to the General tab
  3. Tick the box Mark emails invalid due to Hard Bounce.

Causes of Account Suspension

Concours Pro monitors email bounce rates. High bounce rates suggest invalid email addresses or previous spam behavior. An acceptable bounce rate is up to 3%.

If your email bounce rate exceeds 5%, email sending on your account may be suspended.

Suspension affects only email sending, not other features.

Initial suspensions last 12 hours. If you have 3 three incidents of email bounce rate over 5% within seven days, email sending in your account will be permanently suspended. To re-enable your account you first must have email validation enabled.

Post-Suspension Actions

If your account is suspended, cleanse your contact list using an email validation service. Ensure you avoid bulk or cold emails until resolved. Persistent issues can lead to permanent restrictions on email sending.

To avoid suspensions, use the following best practices:

  • Set Up a Dedicated Domain: Use a dedicated domain for sending emails to improve deliverability.
  • Configure Sender Email: Ensure the sender email matches the dedicated domain.
  • Schedule Emails in Batches: Send emails in smaller batches to manage bounce rates.
  • Double Opt-In: Use double opt-in to confirm recipients’ consent.
  • Unsubscribe Links: Always include an unsubscribe link to allow recipients to opt-out easily.
